Missions
MISSION STATEMENT: Calhoun First Baptist Church seeks to Exalt the Lord in all we do and Equip the saints to Engage our community and the world in Gospel Centered conversations.
URGENCY
We believe there is an urgency to take the gospel to people locally and around the world. The fields are ready for the harvest. If we are sowing or reaping, regardless of the task, we will rejoice with our co-laborers for Christ.
· John 4.35b-38, Jesus said, Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”

SERVING
- Calhoun Cares: CFB participates in various projects within the Calhoun community such as repairs at Calhoun School & the Calhoun boat dock as well as community events such as an Appreciation Cookout for Police & Firefighters. These projects change every year, but their goal remains the same. We desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those we serve.
- Other Local Missions: Vacation Bible School, Hallelujah Festival, Van Ministry, GROW (evangelism and outreach)
- Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan’s Purse: We support this ministry by filling shoeboxes with Christmas gifts for children around the world.
- 30 Hour Famine: This is an event where our youth go without food for 30 hours to raise money to fight World Hunger. During these hours, they also spend time in Bible study, prayer, and community service.
GOING
- Dominican Republic: Our church is currently planning a mission partnership with missionaries in the Dominican Republic. Check back soon for dates and opportunities.
